Endodontics (Root Canal Therapy)
Toothache keeping you up at night? Is the pain lasting after drinking cold water or a hot beverage? Is the throbbing just not stopping? Before having the tooth pulled out, ask us if root canal therapy may be able to save the tooth.
During root canal therapy, the nerve is removed from the inside of the tooth. By removing the nerve, the infection in the nerve of the tooth is also removed. The canal is then filled where the nerve was removed. The tooth should now be pain free, but is at high risk for breaking because the tooth becomes dry and brittle without the nerve and blood supply. We may recommend an inlay or crown be placed on a tooth that has had a root canal, or endodontic treatment. The crown or inlay will be made by the laboratory and placed by your dentist.
